One-third of footprints in the sand are one-third of wooden beads. The connecting beads between each ten are wooden footprints.
This third of the footprints in the sand is 55 cm long from one end of the third to the end of the crucifix. Each third of the footprints in the sand comes with a box and the prayer for the footprints in the sand (see below).
Prayer for footprints in the sand
“One night I had a dream… I dreamed that I was walking on the beach with the Lord and in the firmament, scenes from my life passed. For each scene that passed, I noticed that two sets of footprints were left in the sand; One was mine and the other the Lord's.
As the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand and noticed that many times in the path of my life there was only one set of footprints in the sand. I also noticed that this happened in the most difficult and anguished moments of my life.
This really saddened me, and I then asked God:
“- Lord, you told me once that I decided to follow you, you would always walk with me, in all ways. However, I noticed that during the greatest tribulations of my life there was only a pair of footprints in the sand of the paths of life. I don't understand why in the hours I needed you the most, you left me alone.
The Lord answered me:
“- My precious son, I would never leave you alone in the hours of trial and suffering. When you saw only a pair of footprints in the sand, they were mine. That's exactly when I picked you up.”
