Purple Tibetan ting-sha – crown chakra
The purple Tibetan ting-sha is composed of small cymbals (disks) of purple color (connected to the crown chakra) used in prayers, meditations and rituals by Tibetan Buddhists.
These cymbals are made of bronze, with an approximate weight of 210 grams. The diameter of each ting-sha dish is 6.5cm.
about the Tibetan ting-shas
Tibetan cymbals are cymbals or discs that when struck produce a clear, high pitched tone. Tibetan Tingshas are thick discs that produce a unique beat and musical touch. Ancient Tingsha were made from special bronze alloys that produced harmonic overtones.
These tools are currently used with Tibetan bowls and other instruments in meditation, music, or sound and music therapy. Traditionally, Tibetan cymbals or Tibetan ting-shas were used as part of specific Tibetan rituals, such as offerings to “hungry ghosts” (evil spirits, evil reincarnations). Its true function was seen as a religious tool.
About the Crown Chakra
The purple Tibetan cup refers to the Root chakra (Sahasrara), located at the top of the head, this being the chakra of sense.
This chakra is the master chakra that controls all others. Its energetic power is global, it is the energy of consciousness and elevation to the divine.
