ABOUT BUDDHA
Buddha (or Siddhartha Gautama) was a sage whose teachings gave rise to Buddhism. He is believed to have lived and taught between the 6th and 4th century BC in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent. This word means the “enlightened one” and Siddhartha Gautama is considered the Supreme Buddha and the central figure of Buddhism. His life, his teachings, his speeches and his rules were summarized and memorized by his followers, being transmitted orally over the centuries.
